Hi Everyone,
As you are now aware, Matchbook has acquired BETDAQ, and BETDAQ is due to shut down next week.
I wanted to provide everyone with an update on what this means for RDT bookmakers and explain the steps
you need to take to ensure the changeover is as straightforward as possible.
The good news is that, from an RDT point of view, very little will change for bookmakers operating at
racecourses.
1. This Weekend – Business as Usual
This weekend, you can continue using your existing RDT software and BETDAQ account as normal.
RDT clients will still be able to deposit funds into their existing BETDAQ accounts up until Wednesday, 21st
October.
2. Wednesday, 21st October – Moving to Matchbook
From Wednesday, 21st October, bookmakers will need to have a Matchbook account set up to continue
trading through the exchange.
You will also need to arrange for your existing BETDAQ account balance to be transferred to your new
Matchbook account, or to your existing Matchbook account if you already have one.
3. Updating Your RDT Software
The next time you attend a racecourse from Wednesday, 21st October onwards, simply contact one of our
RDT technicians.
Our technicians will update your RDT software to the new version, allowing you to log in using your Matchbook
account details.
There is no need to change your RDT equipment or the way you operate at the racecourse.
Our technicians will be on course as normal to assist with the software update and answer any questions.
The main difference will be that, instead of logging into BETDAQ, you will now log into Matchbook.
4. How to Open Your Matchbook Account
Bookmakers can open a Matchbook account directly themselves.
If you require multiple accounts, Matchbook can arrange these once your initial account has been opened.
The following documentation will be required:
• Bookmaker’s Licence: A copy of your bookmaker’s licence (all four pages for UK bookmakers).
• Proof of Identity: A copy of your passport or driving licence (front and back).
• Proof of Address: A document dated within the last three months.
I would encourage all bookmakers to begin this process as soon as possible to avoid any unnecessary delays.
5. Matchbook Contact Details
For assistance with opening your account or arranging the transfer of funds, please contact:
Lee – Matchbook On-Course Support
Telephone: +44 7911 760006
Email: oncourse@matchbook.com
If you are unable to contact Lee, you can contact:
Emmet – Matchbook
Telephone: +353 87 333 2109
6. RDT Support
From an RDT perspective, our priority is to make this transition as straightforward as possible for every
bookmaker.
Our technicians will continue to provide the same on-course support you are used to receiving and will be
available to assist with any issues during the changeover.
I appreciate that changes like this can raise questions and concerns, particularly given how quickly everything
is happening. However, I hope the arrangements being put in place will make the transition as easy as
possible for everyone.
Our aim is simple: when you arrive at the racecourse, you should be able to continue trading as
normal with minimal disruption.
If you have any questions or concerns about the changeover, please feel free to contact me directly at
jcarthy@rdtuk.com.
Thank you all for your continued support and cooperation.
Regards,
John Carthy
