To accommodate the number of bookmakers expected to attend each race meeting
- Develop a plan to make better use of the betting ring by adding benches and to develop a more vibrant betting ring
- Change to two lines of bookmakers instead of the current three
- There will be 5 bookmakers in each ‘horseshoe’ rather than the current 7
Plan – using the existing anchorage points (if more bookmakers are in operation we’ll extend the ring to accommodate)
- Nov 22nd – numbers available 1-63 (seven ‘horseshoes – the end of the betting ring will be in line with Aisle 16)
- Nov 23rd – numbers available 1-63 (seven ‘horseshoes – the end of the betting ring will be in line with Aisle 16)
Only use the first two lines of anchorage points will be utilised in a horseshow formation with two bookmakers in the front line (no change) and three bookmakers in the second line (moved forward from the back line)
‘The Rails Operation will be unaffected by any changes’
PITCHING IN TIME
Pitching in time will be 2 hours before the first race

As is standard now, payment of the ‘Daily Betting Badge’, any Bookmakers Staff badges, the Marketing Fee and the RDT Racecourse Betting Compliance Fee’ will be required in advance (the purchasing system allows for bookmakers to make their purchase up to midnight on the day before the raceday).
